Day 1: Sourcing Materials

Purchasing wood for the structure of the MPS.

Today was our first day on the ground in Makeni. We started the day off by walking through the marketplace and visiting several vendors to get quotes on supplies. After this initial trip, we reviewed our bill of materials and decided what we really need and the appropriate prices to pay. We then exchanged our money and headed back out to the marketplace to buy nails, hinges, carbolic acid, nylon string, wood for the structure, and other essentials. We also started soaking grains for our next batch of spawn and contacting people for materials that are harder to source such as rice straw and chicken manure. Overall, our work today has left us ready to level the ground in the morning and hit the ground running on construction of our first Mushroom Production System at the WHI office.
